Stay Safe This Halloween: Tips for Everyone

Staff Report / Alexandrialocal.org

As Halloween approaches, the City of Alexandria, Louisiana, has released safety tips to ensure a safe celebration for everyone.

1. **Children Under 12**: It is recommended that children under the age of 12 should trick-or-treat with an adult. Additionally, adults should supervise children when crossing streets.

2. **Walk Safely**: Participants are advised to walk on sidewalks and designated paths, avoiding the road whenever possible.

3. **Costume Visibility**: To help drivers see them, individuals should keep costumes simple and include reflective tape. Carrying a flashlight is also suggested for better visibility.

4. **Driver Awareness**: Drivers are urged to be mindful of pedestrians and to drive cautiously, especially in residential neighborhoods where trick-or-treating occurs.

These recommendations aim to promote safety for both trick-or-treaters and drivers during the Halloween festivities.
