**City of Alexandria's Project Fight the Blight Makes Progress**

The City of Alexandria’s Planning Division continues its efforts to eliminate abandoned and blighted structures with the aim of improving neighborhood safety. As part of the ongoing “Project Fight the Blight” initiative, city teams have demolished and removed structures that posed potential risks, such as crime and fire hazards.

One recently completed project involved the removal of structures at 208 Chester A & B. The city provided updates on the progress, showcasing the area before, during, and after the demolition. The efforts are part of a broader push to enhance community safety and quality of life.

According to the City of Alexandria, each structure cleared represents a step forward in creating a safer and revitalized community. The project continues to emphasize the importance of addressing blighted properties to promote a more secure and welcoming environment for residents.

This initiative is marked under the hashtags #ProjectFightTheBlight, #TransformingCity, #CityOfAlexandria, and #CommunityStrong to keep community members informed and engaged.
