The Alexandria Police Department in Alexandria, Louisiana, is hiring new officers and support personnel. The department announced starting salaries of $48,200 for new police officers. In addition, new officers are eligible for incentives of $5,000 at the time of appointment, while POST-certified officers may receive an incentive of $10,000.

Applicants who join the department will receive 100% coverage of employee health insurance and retirement contributions. Open positions include police officer, communications officer, records clerk, as well as roles in an internship program.

Additional employment benefits include civil service status, a retirement program, shift differential pay, compensatory time, sick leave, vacation leave, overtime or extra duty details, salary supplement pay, a college tuition assistance program, and insurance plans that cover dental, vision, life, and health. Uniforms and equipment will be supplied by the department.
