**Alexandria Police Share Safety Tips for Mardi Gras Festivities**

Alexandria, Louisiana – With Mardi Gras celebrations just around the corner, the Alexandria Police Department has provided important tips to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

The department advises revelers to travel in groups and designate a meeting spot in case anyone becomes separated. Valuables should be secured either in front pockets or locked away in a hidden spot within a vehicle.

For those planning to drink during the festivities, police stress the importance of setting a consumption limit and designating a sober driver beforehand. Additionally, attendees are reminded to remain cautious at parades by avoiding crossing between floats, a potentially dangerous situation.

Parents are encouraged to inform their children to locate a law enforcement officer if they get lost. Lastly, everyone should plan their ride home ahead of time to avoid last-minute confusion or unsafe transportation.

The Alexandria Police Department wishes everyone a fun, safe, and festive Mardi Gras.
