**Alexandria Police Department Welcomes Chief Chad Gremillion**

Alexandria, Louisiana – The Alexandria Police Department has introduced Chief Chad Gremillion as its new Interim Chief of Police. With a career spanning more than 25 years in law enforcement, Chief Gremillion brings extensive experience and dedication to the department.

Chief Gremillion began his public service career with the Alexandria Police Department in 1995. He later joined the Louisiana State Police, where he earned accolades such as "Trooper of the Year" and a lifesaving award for exceptional service. After retiring from the Louisiana State Police, he was appointed as the Interim Chief of Police for the Alexandria Police Department in 2023.

Beyond his professional achievements, Chief Gremillion is deeply involved in the Alexandria community. He actively supports local organizations such as the Rapides Children’s Advocacy Center and Metanoia Manor, which provides aid to victims of human trafficking. Outside of his law enforcement duties, he is a devoted husband, father, and member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.

Chief Gremillion’s appointment underscores a commitment to maintaining safety and continuing community engagement within Alexandria.
