**Pineville Route Detour Announced for December 13, 2024**

**Alexandria, Louisiana** – Officials have announced a temporary detour for the 601 Pineville and RT 4 Night Service bus routes due to the City of Pineville Christmas Parade, scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2024. The detours will be in effect from 4 PM until 10 PM to accommodate the parade activities.

Passengers using the affected bus routes are advised to utilize the nearest stops along the detour paths during this time. Full route details and additional information can be accessed on the official City of Alexandria transit website at [City of Alexandria Transit Routes](https://www.cityofalexandriala.com/bus-routes-atrans).

**Detour Information:**

- **Outbound Route**:

Buses will depart from the Downtown terminal and proceed to Jackson Street, making a left turn. From Jackson Street, they will continue straight to Foisy Street before taking a left to access Pineville Expressway. The bus will then proceed on the expressway until the Shamrock/Downtown Pineville exit. From there, a left will be made onto Shamrock Street, continuing to Melrose Street, where a right turn will place the route back onto the regular path.

- **Inbound Route**:

Buses returning to the Downtown terminal will follow the regular route until the Veterans Hospital stop. From there, the route will continue on US 71 to US 165. Buses will merge onto US 165 and proceed to cross the Gillis Long Bridge before continuing to Graham Road at the red light. A left turn onto North 3rd Street will follow, continuing straight onto Monroe Street. The route will then take a left onto Foisy Street, a left onto Elliott Street, and resume at the Downtown terminal.

This temporary adjustment ensures the parade can take place while maintaining bus service for riders. Travelers are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra time for their commutes during this period.
