Rapides Parish School Board Hiring Bus Operators Now
Staff Report / Alexandrialocal.org
The Rapides Parish School Board in Alexandria, Louisiana, is hiring Bus Operators for the 2024-2025 school year. They are looking for both Full Time Contracted Bus Operators and Substitute Drivers.
Full Time Contracted Bus Operators will work four hours a day and are paid at a rate of $29.35 per hour. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the website rpsb.us or by calling 318-449-3108.
Additionally, the school board is offering a survey at rpsb.la/busoperatorsurvey for those who want to learn more about the application process. A member of the Transportation Team will contact applicants regarding the next steps.
To support new hires, the Rapides Parish School Board aims to eliminate out-of-pocket expenses for candidates earning their Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus and Passenger endorsements, provided they commit to the school system for the full school year. However, some costs such as the CDL physical, third-party tester fees, and DMV licensing will be the candidates' responsibility initially, but they can seek reimbursement once employed.
