Alyia Gaskins, a graduate from SCS in 2019, has become the first Black woman elected as the mayor of Alexandria, Virginia. Meanwhile, Wendell Felder, who graduated from SCS in 2018, has been elected to the D.C. City Council as the representative for Ward 7.
