Geneva firefighters train on patient packaging, extrication
GENEVA, N.Y. — Geneva Firefighters Local 2859 reports Green Shift Training was held yesterday. The training focused on patient packaging and extrication.
The training covers a technique that uses a ground ladder secured to a stokes basket and rope to lower a patient from a window or roof.
“There is never just one way to perform a task in the fire service. What might work good in one situation might not work in another. So it is vital we stay trained and up to date on all different skills and techniques.”
