Seneca Lake rising as rain forecast raises flood risk
GENEVA, N.Y. — The Seneca Lake water level continues to rise, with another 2-3 inches added since yesterday, according to the Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association.
Additional rain is expected over the next three days, with the most coming on Sunday morning. The lake’s response could be in a day or two, with levels potentially rising another 4-6 inches or more, potentially reaching levels similar to November 2021, which caused minor flood damage in some areas.
Strong winds may also impact shoreline conditions, especially through the weekend.
If your dock or shoreline property is vulnerable to high water, now is a good time to take precautions and secure equipment.
