Cornell University's Vibrant Hydrangea Display Honors Alumnus

Each summer and fall, Cornell University in Ithaca showcases a vibrant display of hydrangeas in shades of pink, red, and white. This floral arrangement was made possible by Jim Sollecito, an alumnus from the class of 1976, who has donated over 1,000 hydrangea plants across 268 varieties to the university.
Sollecito's extensive collection enhances the aesthetic of the campus, particularly on the Hill. The first plants he contributed were planted between Schoellkopf and the Fischell Band Center, serving as a memorial to his daughter, Hannah Sollecito, who graduated in 2011 and passed away in 2016.
