Outstanding Individuals Recognized at Rapides Parish School Board

Several outstanding individuals were recognized at the September School Board meeting in Rapides Parish for their recent accomplishments.

Julia Swafford and Amy Porter completed the 18-month CGMS Montessori Certification Program and both received their Elementary Level 1 Certification.

Zoey M. from Oak Hill High School participated in multiple extracurricular activities and maintains a GPA over 4.0. She has completed 30 Dual Enrollment classes at LSUA and plans to major in nursing at the same university after high school.

Mrs. Kelli Hunt completed the Emergency Medical Technician program at the National EMS Academy. Following ten weeks of training in first aid, CPR, AED, and emergency care, she passed the national EMT exam and is now fully licensed. Mrs. Hunt is currently working to certify students at Rapides High School as Emergency Medical Responders and plans to expand the program to offer EMT certification next year.

Mr. Jeff Kenimer, a teacher at Rapides High School, led a team of five students to compete in the International SeaPerch Competition in May. The team designed, built, and piloted an underwater robot, placing 36th out of 300+ teams invited to compete, ranking them in the top 1% globally.
