Alexandria kindergarten students deliver Veterans Day crafts

Kindergarten team members and students at Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School in Alexandria, Virginia, recognized and appreciated Veterans at the DC VA Medical Center, according to a post from the Washington DC VA Medical Center.

The students personally colored pictures and created artwork and crafts shaped in flags and hearts to help brighten Veterans’ Day activities around Memorial Day. The post said the materials were shared with Veterans in the VA Community Living Center, Hospice Center, and Occupational Therapy.

DC VAMC Medical Center Director Vamsee Potluri and other team members hand-delivered the crafts to Veterans in those units. The VA team explained to Veterans that the crafts and colored papers were made by local kindergarten students who wanted to say “thank you” in their own way.
