Roadrunner Food Bank Hosts Annual Souper Bowl Event

Roadrunner Food Bank in Albuquerque, New Mexico recently hosted its annual Souper Bowl event, drawing over 1,500 attendees. Guests sampled a variety of soups and desserts contributed by restaurants statewide.

The event featured several competitions. In the People's Choice Soup category, El Patron was named the Super Bowl Champion with their Harvest Vegetable Soup as well as Beef and Barley Soup. Old Town Catering took second place with its Ratatouille Soup and Creamy Green Chile and Chicken Cheddar Soup. There was a tie for third place between SRB Sangwich Shop, with their Green Chile Chicken Corn Chowder, and Steelbender, with their Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Posole.

For the Critics’ Choice Soup, Old Town Catering earned first place with its Ratatouille Soup and Creamy Green Chile and Chicken Cheddar Soup. Tula’s Kitchen was awarded second place for its Tomato Bisque, and Jason’s Deli placed third with its Broccoli Cheddar Soup.

In the Best Vegetarian Soup category, Kosmos Astropub won first place with its Butternut Apple Curry Bisque. Old Town Catering placed second with its Ratatouille Soup, and Shamrock Foods was third with its Roasted Chestnut and Celery Root Soup.

In the Best Dessert category, Italian Ice Rio was named the winner with its Italian Ice. Dulce River came in second with its Crimson Cannoli, and Baked By Christiana placed third with Cranberry Cookie, Kentucky Butter Cake, and Mini Danishes.

El Patron took first place for Best Decorated Booth. Special Touch Catering and Old Town Catering placed second and third, respectively.

The Roadrunner Food Bank also recognized a Roadie’s raffle winner at the event and acknowledged a 20-year performance tradition by The Peacemakers. Organizers expressed their appreciation for the community’s support and the participation of local restaurants.

Wanted suspect arrested after assaulting deputies
