Thanksgiving Travel Tips for Palm Springs Airport

Staff Report / PalmSpringslocal.org

The City of Palm Springs has provided helpful tips for travelers heading out of Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) for Thanksgiving.

Travelers can expect the airport to be busiest on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday. To ensure a smooth experience, it is recommended to arrive at the airport two hours early if checking bags and 90 minutes early if traveling with carry-ons only.

Parking is expected to fill quickly in the main terminal lots. Overflow parking is available on Kirk Douglas Way, with shuttle service offered daily. Travelers may also consider rideshares or SunLine buses to avoid parking issues.

Dining options at the airport have expanded, with new restaurants such as Cactus to Clouds and Las Casuelas Terraza available for those looking to eat before their flight. However, travelers should be prepared for potential wait times.

To save time, passengers are advised to check in online through their airline’s app, especially if they are traveling light.

In addition, travelers can use the TSA's "What Can I Bring?" tool to ensure they do not pack any prohibited items. More information, including live updates on parking, security wait times, and other airport resources, can be found at flyPSP.com.
