The Rapides Parish School Board in Alexandria, Louisiana, has announced that all students in the district will receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2024-2025 school year. This initiative is part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which allows schools in low-income areas to offer meals at no cost to enrolled students without requiring household applications.

The Food Services Department, led by Mrs. Erma Davis, applied for this funding opportunity in April to ensure that all students in the district have access to balanced meals every day. Since 2019, the district has received this funding, benefiting all students in Rapides Parish.

According to Mrs. Davis, this program will alleviate the financial burden on parents by eliminating the need for lunch money or outstanding lunch fees. It aims to ensure that all students have access to nutritious meals to support their educational needs.
