Alexandria Starts Fire Hydrant Flushing Maintenance
The City of Alexandria in Louisiana announced that the fire hydrant flushing will occur starting September 9th in two designated areas. The first area covers the lower third from Green Oak Avenue to Casson Street to Jones Street. The second area covers Jackson Street to Bolton Avenue to Rapides Avenue to Hynson Bayou.
Hydrant flushing is a normal maintenance task that helps maintain water quality and ensures that the fire protection system is ready if needed. Residents in these areas may see temporary changes in water pressure or discoloration during the flushing process.
City crews are working to complete the task, and residents are thanked for their patience during this important maintenance work.
