Dangerous Lake Effect Snow Hits Watertown Area
Staff Report / FLXlocal.org
A significant weather update for the Watertown area has been issued by the National Weather Service in Buffalo, NY. Lake effect snow will continue throughout the day, with minimal movement in the snow bands expected until 4 p.m. Snowfall rates are forecasted to be between 2-3 inches per hour in some areas, particularly off Lake Ontario.
As a result, travel conditions will be dangerous, especially for those traveling in the Watertown region. Earlier reports indicated snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour, but current conditions have increased the rates, exacerbating hazards on the road. This continues to affect travel safety, and residents are advised to exercise caution.
